Safety Tips

  • Make sure to call 8-1-1 (or click on the logo) to locate underground utilities before digging.
  • It is against the law to post anything on utility poles for the safety of linemen.

Downed Line Safety

  • Never touch a downed power line
  • Be prepared to provide the location of the downed line.
  • Keep your distance and help alert others if safely possible.
  • If the line has fallen on or near your car, stay in your car. Your car tires can act as an insulator and help keep you from being electrocuted.
  • Even 1 foot from your car to the energized ground can be lethal.

Report Downed Lines

Tree Trimming

  • The customer’s only responsibility is to inspect trees on your property that are in contact with or in close proximity to the service line (from pole to house/meter location) and if necessary hire certified tree trimmers.
  • For your safety please call us before conducting any kind of work on trees that are near overhead lines. We will inspect the lines and will help determine the best course of action.
