Net Metering Program
The District offers a net metering program for those customers interested in generating their own electricity through renewable resources (wind, hydro, solar, etc) connected to the District’s electrical system.
Net Metering calculates the energy produced (in kilowatt hour) by the customer to offset the energy consumed (in kWh) by the same customer (also known as usage), creating a net amount of energy. Meters are read on a monthly basis and the net is calculated. Any excess of energy can be carried over from month to month (also known as “banked”) with an annual reset of kWh on June 1 of each year. If a customer has an overage of kWh at that time they are released to the District’s electrical system.
Applicants must apply to connect to the District’s electrical system using the below documents, pay applicable fees, and provide manufacturer’s cut sheets of proposed equipment to be installed.
